CV as a personalized advertising of your application

With no doubts, writing a CV is creating your own advertising. Why? Promotion, presentation, selling your own profile, these are the elements of  marketing. Aim to which we aspire: to encourage employers to offer you your dream position corresponding to your competences. So let's take inspiration from the advertising world to understand how we can reach our desired audience and attention.

Just like in TV, the program should have a target and adjust their activities to a pre-defined audience. Information which is transmitted in television must be attractive and provide information simply and clearly, as the commercial time in TV is like the time of the person who is responsible for the selection of your resume is limited.

Education or experience?

Focus on your strength sides,  think what new you can bring to the company. Just as in commercials, highlight your strengths which will make a distinctive "product" than others. If you lack experience. If you completed the prestigious field of study, begin with a description of your educational path. If you are an experienced employee, start by praising the CV your experiences. Your strengths are languages? Place them in a priority position in your application.

One, two or three pages?

An important principle of modern publishing and advertising is that less is more. Trends in advertising recently adopted a minimalist look, often focusing on a single, well-designed catch phrase shown in the background consisting of two highly contrasting colors. Advertising blocks may not last too long, to not lose the customer's attention, the same is with CV : can not be a bibliography describing your life. Try to summarize the information, use bold or underlining.

Education? Skip detailed description of the activities that you had during your studies.

Experience? Focus on the most important things that can add value to the position you are applying for.

Languages? Skip writing a basic language skills if you can only say good morning and ask about directions.
